What is Awaab’s Law?

Awaab’s Law is new UK legislation that comes into effect on 27 October 2025. It places a legal duty on landlords and housing providers to investigate and fix reported damp and mould hazards within strict timeframes.

The law was introduced to protect residents’ health following the tragic death of two-year-old Awaab Ishak in 2020, caused by prolonged exposure to mould in his home.
