What to expect

Your HIU is the unit that supplies your flat's heating and hot water from the building's communal system. Here's how your service visit works.

What we'll do

A full annual service of your HIU — safety and performance checks, clean-down, and a digital service certificate, which we submit to your building management.

Your arrival window

Your booking reserves an arrival window, not a fixed time — the engineer may arrive at any point during it. Please make sure someone aged 18+ is available throughout the window to give access. The visit takes about 45 minutes.

If a fault is found

Should any further work be needed, we'll prepare a quote and issue it to the responsible party. If and when it can be carried out depends on their authorisation and the availability of parts.

Before your appointment

  • Clear access to your HIU is required before the engineer arrives — please unlock the cupboard and move any stored items so the unit is fully accessible.
  • The engineer may arrive at any time during your booked window, so please make sure someone aged 18+ is available throughout to provide access.
